This informative signage was designed to guide the DTG operator through the direct-to-garment1 production process.
This is just one component of a comprehensive series of steps that are carried out each morning by the DTG operator before the production process can begin.
I designed these signage displays during a month-long cross-training assignment that helped to bridge the gap between the Graphic Design and DTG production departments. I worked closely with the Production Manager and DTG operator in order to formulate standard operating procedures for this relatively new company program.
1. Direct to garment printing, also known as DTG printing, digital direct to garment printing, digital apparel printing, and inkjet to garment printing, is a process of printing on textiles and garments using specialized or modified inkjet technology. The two key requirements of a DTG printer are a transport mechanism for the garment and specialty inks (inkjet textile inks) that are applied to the textile directly and are absorbed by the fibers.
